Tiao Shui Ancient Path, originally the narrow path in Ba Gua Mountain, is between Fenyuan Village of Zhanghua and Xitou Hamlet of Dazhu Village . It was in Qing Dynasty when the traffic is rather not convenient and the local people searched for a trench to ease their problem of drinking water and they found Tiao Shui Ancient Path where water flowed ceaselessly all the year. So they dug two 10-meter-deep wells at the sourse of the spring and constructed the road to the wells a stepped path. In fact, nobody is sure about the year the path was completed, but it is at least 100 years old. And it was until the completion of the expansion of 139 th Da Zhang Road that the Tiao Shui Ancient Path was constructed into a path functioning in defending flood and leisure activities such as mountain-climbing.

 

Tiao Shui Ancient Path, about 2 kilometers long, starts from the left entrance of No. 159, Sec. 1, Yuancao Road, Xitou Hamlet, Fenyuan Village, where Japanese-style temples and arch doors could be seen. Driving or walking along the concrete flood diverging path about 1.4 kilometers, you could see wile open ground where parking and playing basketball are available. You should stop the car here and walk along the walk-way. Without going further, you could see a pavilion and then two spring walls which are built up hundred years ago and have no water any more except in season of rains. Moving forward along a zig-zag walk-way with nearly vertical slope and penetrating dense lychee trees and longan trees, you will meet a mini ancient temple named Eastern Dragon Temple; During your journey, you could see a lot of resident birds, for example, turtledove, Chinese bulbul, Lv Jinyan… preying in the forest. From the Eastern Dragon Temple , you could get to the entrance of Lane. 672, Sec. 1, Da Zhang Road .
